Health Care

Goals:
Provide access to health care for low income persons who are
uninsured or underinsured;
Provide advocacy, support for legislation, transportation
solutions, health education, and health promotion for these members of our community.

Achievements:
Enrolling more than 1,000 low income persons who are uninsured or underinsured and meet income criteria through the Coalition Health Access Program (CHAP);
Completing a community health education survey;
Participating in the Northwest Michigan Transportation Alliance for Grand Traverse, Benzie and Leelanau counties.

Plans for 2007:
Developing activities and a plan to increase access to
services for low income persons who are uninsured or underinsured, with a major focus on dental care;
Kick off another annual “Let’s Get Moving” community
physical activity event in May 2007;
Complete a CHAP comprehensive health access survey as part of the PRI "Poverty Insight Project" constituent survey, publish findings, and share the results with PRI affiliates and partner organizations helping to measure progress toward PRI service goals.
