Early Childhood

Goals:
Highlight the long-term benefits to the community of early childhood intervention (0—5 years), both prenatal and beyond.

Achievements:
Participating in PRI has brought together a broad spectrum of community members and Early Childhood Education professionals;
Sharing messages and philosophies in preparation for our plan of action.

Plans for 2007:
Create a blueprint for moving families with young children out of poverty by assessing current childcare resources and developing new as needed;
Explore other initiatives including providing additional funding for childcare and training for childcare providers;

Complete a regional early childhood strategic plan that will bring together many of the key organizational, public policy and service providers with a focus on specific and measurable action plans.
