Planning for Pathways
Pathways are facilities used for non-motorized transportation, primarily walking and biking, and include bike lanes, bike routes, sidewalks, and shared use paths. These facilities—also known as trails or non-motorized ways or paths—have long been a recreational priority in northwest Michigan, where outdoor activities like hiking, bicycling, and skiing are favorite pastimes for both residents and visitors.
