  • Hospitality Training Provided by Goodwill Industries - Traverse City May 5-16

    Job seekers can prepare for jobs at top hotels and restaurants by taking a Hospitality Training class sponsored by Northwest Michigan Works and Goodwill Industries. The training runs May 5 through May 16, 2014 and is being provided through Goodwill Industries to prepare participants for employment in a variety of hospitality related jobs. This program will take place at the Goodwill Kitchen, Hofbrau Restaurant, Incredible Mo’s, and Sauce Restaurant to provide learning space in both a classroom and real-life environment. Upon completion students will receive a certificate showing the skills gained and hours completed through Goodwill Industries and will complete testing for ServSafe Certificate.Scholarships are available for eligible training participants.   • Venture Plan: Six Week Business Plan in Traverse City

    Business owners will learn how to develop a business plan in a class offered by the Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) in Traverse City. "Venture Plan: Six Week Business Plan," will start on Tuesday, May 6 and will meet for three hours every Tuesday through June 15 except for May 20. The classes will run from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the large conference room at the Michigan Works! Service Center located at 1209 S. Garfield.
