MISSION STATEMENT
Northwest Michigan Council of Governments is a regional organization serving units of government, businesses, non-profits, community organizations, and individuals.
Our mission is to build stronger communities and improve quality of life in Northwest Michigan.
Our hallmarks are public-private partnership, innovation, and collaboration.
We provide a variety of programs and services within the region, with particular emphasis on partnerships, economy of scale, and leveraging resources to address common concerns among multiple organizations or across sectors.
Our primary service categories are: workforce development; business & economic development; regional planning & community development; community safety.
About NWMCOG
Founded in 1974, the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG) facilitates and manages various programs and services for the ten county region. These programs include Northwest Michigan Works, YouthBuild, Small Business & Technology Development Center, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, various business services, and many different regional planning initiatives in response to our communities’ requests and needs. You will see the broad spectrum of workforce, business and community services NWMCOG offers as you look through our web site.
NWMCOG's member counties are: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford.

The Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG) is open 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM every day except Saturday, Sunday, and the following holidays:

(Note: If the holiday falls on a Saturday, NWMCOG will be closed the preceding Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, NWMCOG will be closed the following Monday.)
