The Healthcare RSA is composed of partners from private and public sectors who are committed to finding solutions to workforce issues in the healthcare industry, which is the region's fastest growing labor market. We are committed to assisting the healthcare industry in the Northwest Michigan region to develop a sustainable, qualified workforce.

Funding for Healthcare RSA

The Healthcare RSA recently received a one-year grant award of $100,000 from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth (DLEG). Portions of the grant will be conducted in partnership with the Northeast Regional Skills Alliance. In the summer of 2007, the alliance was one of only six organizations in the nation to be awarded $500,000 for three years from the US Department of Labor's High Growth Jobs Training Initiative (HGJTI) to implement a Comprehensive Direct Care Worker Career Pathway. This project specifically focuses on long-term care and will be operated under the umbrella of the Healthcare RSA. The new grant from the state will allow the Healthcare RSA to offer even more extensive training for healthcare employers and their direct care staff.
