The Alliance for Economic Success (AES) collaborates with the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) to provide a full range of services for small to medium sized businesses that are emerging and growing.  One-on-one business counseling is a free service for individuals who want to improve, revitalize or expand their companies, or develop a new venture. This service is provided by Deborah Nale at Manistee-based AES office.

To do business with the federal government, your business must be registered in the CCR system. You must have a DUNS number to register.

the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number is a unique nine character identification number provided by the commercial company Dun & Bradstret (D&B). You must have a DUNS number to register to do business with the federal government.

FedBizOpps.gov is the official site used by all Federal agencies for solicitations over $25,000. Automatic notifications, online searches, archived solications/awards are available.

From site location assistance to job training grants, from help with permits to tax abatements, we're the state's official economic development corporation -- a one-stop resource for businesses seeking to grow in Michigan.

Procurement Technical Assistance Center assist small businesses with the vigorous requirements for bidding on and obtaining government contracts. This free service includes bid matching services, market research, standards and specifications guidelines, electronic data interchange, and one-on-one counseling. The program also provides low-cost trainings and seminars on government procurement and exporting.

Businesses are required to enter some general business information and an indication of the types of goods and/or services they can offer the state. Vendors are allowed to maintain their own vendor record at this website by entering updated information when necessary.

The HUBzone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) Empowerment Conracting program provides federal contracting opportunities for qualified small businesses located in distressed areas.
