Pasture-based beef production in northwest Michigan was discussed at a meeting of the Northwest Michigan Agriculture and Food System Sector Alliance in Traverse City. Dr. Jason Rowntree from Michigan State University, is working to develop a pilot project for the region's beef production that would include connecting famers, processors, distributors and retailers.
