Belinda Abbey has been a Career Advisor with Michigan WORKS! since 1998. Her past human resource experience in the hospitality industry has also equipped Belinda to thoroughly understand the prospective and new employee process and present that to her clients. Belinda holds a Medical/Secretary Certificate and is currently pursuing a Human Service Degree from Baker College of Cadillac.
Jim Bertoldi, B.B.A.-acounting, has over two decades of experience working in the area of public accounting and consulting.
David Crawford, B.S.-accounting, B.S.-business management, is a computer applications instructor and an information technology applications trainer. He is a Microsoft Office Specialist who conducts and administers training, preparation, and testing activities for MOS candidates at NMC's Microsoft-approved testing center.
Trevor Darnell, B.S., D.C.-chiropractic, owner of Torch Chiropractic Family Wellness Center, PLC since May 2009. At Palmer College of Chiropractic he received the leadership and philosophy awards for his graduating class. He brings his knowledge and passion of personal and family wellness, patient advocacy and health research to his job as well as his love for family and the outdoors.
Joe Dupuie, EMT-P, has been an American Heart Association instructor for 14 years and has extensive experience teaching people the life-saving skills of CPR and First Aid. He is a paramedic with the Kalkaska Emergency Unit and approaches teaching by bringing his real-world experience into the classroom. Joe has been an employee of the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center for over 16 years.
Keith Greenwald, B.S., M.A.-agriculture education, is a budget/housing coordinator with the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) - Petoskey location. Keith specializes in budget/credit counseling, foreclosure prevention, individual pre-purchase counseling, group financial management education, homeownership education, and post-purchase/home maintenance training workshops. He is a certified HUD counselor and has been certified through MSHDA to be a Links to Homeownership counselor. His background includes being a Community Development Manager for the USDA Rural Development program instructor and high school teacher.
Jerry Hawes, B.A.-business administration (vocationally certified in office practice), is a graduate of Northern Michigan University of Marquette. Jerry has been employed by Northwest Michigan Works! since 2001 and in that time began his work in the East Jordan service center, was then played a critical part to the starting up the Learning Lab in Mancelona, and was recently transferred to Kalkaska Michigan Works! Service Center as the new Learning Lab Instructor.
Kate Lett, B.A.-history with specialties in sociology and religious studies, from Michigan State University. Kate has been employed as a Michigan Works! Career Advisor since July 2008. In her position, she facilitates the No Worker Left Behind program and helps individuals to find the appropriate training programs and determine the direction of their new career paths. Kate is scheduled to earn her Master of Arts degree in Humanities from Central Michigan University in 2009.
Jane McNabb, B.A.-English literature, M.A.-organization management, has worked in the technology field for almost ten years as a technician, software trainer, and webmaster. She has taught several classes in Microsoft Office products and in general computer use. She currently works as Director of Program Development for the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments.
Mark Millis, B.S.-business administration, has worked in the teaching and consulting arena for 26 years. He is a certified and licensed instructor for the worldwide Debt Free and Prosperous Living SeminarTM.
Tina Norris Fields, M.A.-leadership, B.S.-Bus/CIS, owns Tall Pines Computer Training and specializes in facilitating adult computer mastery. Her background includes export management, database systems development, adult education, and computerized genealogical research.
Randy Oliver brings to his workplace and classroom vast experience in human resource management, training and development, employment services, and supervisory management. In the past, Randy has instructed for Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. He has also instructed and co-developed curriculum for the Certified Employment Counselor Certificate issued by the Government of Canada. Randy has been employed as a Work First Career Advisor for Kalkaska Michigan WORKS! since 2004.
Mark Shaltz, M.A.-educational administration, B.S.-industrial education/building trades and woodworking, is a Career Advisor with Kalkaska Michigan WORKS! Mark has over 15 years experience both teaching and construction management. He is also a Licensed Residential Contractor.
Annie Shetler, B.A.S., M.B.A.-strategic management, has been the KAL•TEC Coordinator since January 2006 with the Northwest Michigan Council of Goverments (NWMCOG). She brings her knowledge and experience with small business administration, operations, marketing, and education to her job as well as her family's businesses. In addition to her duties at NWMCOG, she is a part-time Classroom Training Specialist with Northwest Michigan WORKS! since June 2009.
Kayla Thomas, B.A., graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and minors in Asian and Women Studies. Kayla worked in a substance abuse sub-acute detox unit and handled admissions into residential and outpatient treatment. She has been employed with Catholic Human Services, Inc. for seven years and currently serves as a Prevention Educator.
Chris Wendel, B.A.-economics, has worked in marketing and as a self-employed retailer for over 20 years. He is Regional Director for the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center in Northwest Michigan.
